Found this 1960's hot rod stuffed in a barn for years. I took it out, pulled the heads (was very clean), replaced the rusted steel tank with aluminum, changed fuel lines and pump, rebuilt carbs, repaired brakes and cleaned it up a lot! Original 60's interior. Cranks up easy and runs great! 1923 ford t bucket built in 1967 brass radiator excellent tufted interior removable top 350 engine (fresh rebuild) highrise intake dual 600cfm carbs vintage 60's taillights i have been an honor member on racingjunk for over 10 years will consider trades. Seller's comments and description: 1979 porsche 930 turbo presented in correct black (code a1) over black leather (code 68) interior, only 70,774original miles since new. Factory optioned with limited slip differential, electric exterior mirror, sport seats,black roofliner and electric sunroof. Same owner for last 14 years. Certificate of authenticity, numbers matchingengine and transmission, pre sale inspection and compression check just performed by hennessey porsche. Alloriginal, unmolested, and non-restored condition, absolutely rust free example. The 930 was unveiled at the frankfurt auto show in 1973 as the carrera turbo. Employing the now iconic wide bodyand curvaceous body lines of the carrera rs 3. 0 but with distinctive new front and rear spoiler design. Thecarerra turbo became an instant sensation. The car was released in the north american market in 1976 as the 911turbo and featured a 3. 0l turbocharged engine. In 1978 porsche upgraded the engine to a 3. 3l intercooled versionproducing 300hp and 304 lb-ft, endowing the turbo to reach a top speed of 165mph. The fastest us car at the time. Also introduced on the 3. 3l turbos was a new rear wing to clear the intercooler and a 4-piston braking system fromthe 917 racecar. The 3. 3l turbo was built for the us market for only the 1978 and 1979 model year before usemissions standards forced it from the market until its reintroduction in 1986. Significant air cooled porsche’shave seen a tremendous appreciation in value in recent years, due in part to their analog driving experience andgenuine blue chip collectability. Early turbo models in original condition are virtually non existent, and willcontinue to lead the marque in value into the next decade. I have owned this particular example, the #729/1,200 built for the last14 years. I purchased this car in 2001 from a dealer in seattle, wa who had just taken it on trade from agentleman in oregon. The car was sold new in texas. A previous owner had the dp style front bumper and 17”porsche cup wheels installed. I have been fastidious in my ownership, making sure that the vehicle never yearnedfor anything. I have always gotten the vehicle serviced at porsche dealerships (if they had a technician familiarenough and skilled enough to understand the car) or independent specialty porsche shops. When i lived in seattle,chris powell from chris german (former 935 racing team mechanic) was my shop and since the car has been in georgia,it has been maintained by a top technician at hennessey porsche (this mechanic is now accountable for porsche’sclassic car restoration efforts at porsche headquarters). It has always been garage kept, and never driven in poorweather conditions, as it has always been a 3rd car for me. The vehicle is presented in its original black (a1)paint, which shows exceptionally well. Other than some slight rock chipping as one would expect from the miles,the exterior is virtually blemish free. The black leather interior presents in great shape with no rips, tears, orbolster wear. Headliner is in fantastic shape, as are the carpets and door cards. This vehicle was also orderedwith the rare limited slip differential and factory sport seats. Certificate of authenticity (coa) is available. The vehicle just completed a rigorous pre-sale inspection with compression check at hennessey porsche. They noted that the vehicle checkedout remarkably well and showed no signs of rust. They were able to also verify that the engine and transmissionnumbers match the coa. I have been following the market of these cars for the last few years, and have not seen another 78-79 turbo in asnice original condition as this car come up for sale. The engine starts right up in all weather conditions, idles very smoothly, with just a bit of old school lumpiness, and pulls incredibly hard from below idle speeds to a 5500 rpm redline.
